Hey Bethany! I just found a link to your site in your facebook info. It's been great to read about your time in Ethiopia. What a fantastic and unimaginable thing you have experienced. Thanks for sharing. It was great to hug you at Shanna's shower.

Blessings in all that you do!

Hi Bethany - I loved what you wrote about relationships in Africa, and the way time spent with friends/acquaintances/family takes place outside of the time/money equation. The note about the interdependence of the culture is also good to hear about. Thank you for the blog. Its very generous of you! Love, Uncle Ken.

B,

This was an amazing post! Thank you for taking the time to write it out so thoughtfully. It makes me miss you guys and Addis like crazy! I wish I could hop on a plane and be back there with you right now. I think YOU should stop the next person you see in a randomly familiar t-shirt and ask to have a picture with him or her. Not only would THEY love it, but you could prove that Goodwill or the Lutheran Church that sent it over in a clothing drive is doing their job! I love that your reunion is at Red Robin...amazing. I think you should call ahead to the restaurant so that your orders can be waiting for you when you arrive! Besos y abrazos to all of you!!!

Dear Bethany,

That was a great entry. It is amzing to read about what you have been doing and experiencing. It is something that most of us will never understand. We can imangine it, but we will not really know.

I look foreward to your return and hearing many stories.

To all of you, may God continue to guide you, direct you, protect you, and carry you each step of the way.

Love,
Dave

Hi Bethany,

Great to hear about your experiences. It gives all of us a greater perspective on what life in Addis is like for all of you. It also makes me want you all home with us. Very selfish of me, I know. All of you, make me want to be a better person, to not take things for granted, to love more deeply, to listen more intently, to hug longer, and to think more of others, instead of myself. Praying for your health and safety. I love you!

Hey friends! I miss you all terribly and I miss Addis, too. I am pretty bitter about having to be back here in snowy MN knowing that it is sunny and warm over there! I hope that you are all doing well! B-I wish we could have taken another trip to Beirut Snack. J-I keep seeing Red Robin commercials and it makes me think of you. M-I was looking through a magazine the other day and thought how you'd enjoy doing the same. S-I saw a hilarious pic on Anna's facebook of the two of you with some scary doll...hilarious! So, I am thinking of you all and missing you a ton! My healing is coming along pretty well. I still can't put on my own shoes or socks, which is frustrating of course, but that is normal for my injuries. I am learning a lot about patience and depending on others...always fun lessons for an independent American woman, right?! Thank you guys for all of your encouragement and prayers! Love you!

Bethany and friends,
What fun it is to read your blogs and experience through your words the adventures you are having! You don't know me, as we've never actually met, but I am an old friend of your mother's (Jane) and came across your web address as I was putting away the Christmas cards/letters today. Thank you for taking time to help us all understand what life is like elsewhere. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
